Kent Centric (Concentric) Butterfly Valves

The most basic butterfly valve design is the centric or concentric type, where the stem passes through the disc centerline, positioned in the middle of the pipe bore. The seat is located on the inside periphery of the valve body. This zero-offset design, also called resilient-seated, relies on the flexibility of the seat rubber to achieve tight shutoff. During operation, the disc makes first contact with the seat at approximately 85° of its 90° rotation. These valves are typically used in low-pressure applications.

  • Applications: water, wastewater, gas, fire protection, and general industry.

Centric Butterfly Valves with Loose Liners
