Kent Pressure Seal Gate Valves are designed for high-pressure, high-temperature applications across a wide range of fluids, except where severe coking may occur. Their rugged construction and advanced pressure seal mechanism make them a reliable choice for nuclear steam generating stations, thermal power plants, and industrial/chemical plants.
Categories: Valves
Brand: KENT VALVE

Working Principle
The valve uses a pressure-seal bonnet system:
- Initial tightening of the bonnet bolts compresses the gasket and achieves sealing.
- As system pressure rises, the line pressure further enhances gasket compression, reducing the possibility of leakage at the body/bonnet joint.
- This self-energizing sealing mechanism ensures superior performance at elevated pressures.
Key Features & Benefits
-
- Design Compliance: API 600, ASME B16.34, MSS SP-144.
- Operation: Available in handwheel or gear-operated types (depending on size).
- Robust Construction: Cast body with precisely machined integral flanges.
- Flexible Sealing: One-piece flexible wedge is standard; solid wedge available on request.
- Quick Operation: Rising stem with precision ACME threads (single or double start).
- Emission Control: Polished stem sealing area; fugitive emission compliance to API 624 and ISO 15848-1.
- Packing & Maintenance:
– Live loading on stem packing (optional).
– Back seat (threaded or welded) allows packing replacement under line pressure.
– Live loading of bonnet bolts available for F91/C12A valves. - Sealing Integrity: Seat rings welded in or integral to provide bubble-tight shutoff.
- Durability: Two-piece gland and gland flange reduce stem wear.
- Over-Pressure Safety: Optional by-pass arrangement for over-pressure protection.
- Special Services: NACE compliance to MR-01-75 or MR-01-03.
- Automation Options: Can be supplied with hydraulic or electric actuators, limit switches, and accessories.
