The Bently Nevada 990 Vibration Transmitter is designed primarily for OEMs of centrifugal air compressors, small pumps, motors, and fans requiring a straightforward 4–20 mA proportional vibration signal for machinery control and protection systems. It features an integrated Proximitor Sensor – eliminating the need for a separate external unit — and interfaces directly with Bently Nevada 3300 NSv non-contacting proximity probes and extension cables.
The 990 transmitter outputs peak-to-peak vibration amplitude in engineering units as a standard 4–20 mA industry signal, compatible with PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems. It includes non-isolated PROX OUT and COM terminals for diagnostics, non-interacting zero and span potentiometers for loop signal adjustment, a Test Input pin for quick verification, and a Not OK / Signal Defeat fault detection circuit that prevents false alarms from faulty probes or loose connections. The potted construction supports operation in high-humidity environments up to 100% condensing.
